Dr. Platto
Following college and graduate school in Public Health, Dr. Platto worked for a number of years in Public Health Service projects running a six county federal health planning district in Central California and subsequently administrating 25 Native American medical and dental clinics in California under State and federal Indian Health Service grants before entering chiropractic college. Subsequent to chiropractic college, Dr. Platto had a treating practice for 34 years. Dr. Platto sat for the first State QME test in 1991 and has been a QME since 1992. In collaboration with his colleague, Dr. Sosine, Dr. Platto developed and presented the first QME Report Writing course in 2000 that was mandated by the State. Along with his colleague, Dr. Sosine, Dr. Platto also developed and taught the Industrial Disability Evaluator course for six years in California and he has been an approved educational provider for over 20 years providing continuing education courses for QMEs for QME biannual reappointment CE credit and for doctors of chiropractic for CE credit for annual relicensing.

Dr. Sosine
Following college, Dr. Sosine attended chiropractic college and has completed numerous post-graduate courses in spinal trauma, cervical trauma, post-graduate radiology, and numerous other courses in musculoskeletal trauma. Dr. Sosine has been practicing for the past 43 years and continues to practice. He sat for the first State QME Test in 1991 and has been a QME for the past 34 years. In collaboration with Dr. Platto, Dr. Sosine developed and presented the first QME Report Writing course in 2000 that was mandated by the State. Collectively Drs. Platto and Sosine have completed many post-graduate courses in a wide variety of clinical subjects. And given their experience in workers’ compensation doing medical-legal evaluations for over 30 years, they have extensive experience in and knowledge about the California workers’ compensation system and how it has developed and transformed in the last several decades.
